Orks, along with Eldar, are the oldest thriving race in the galaxy. If they could take over the Galaxy then they would have. For an Ork fighting IS winning. Its their favorite activity and a good brawl is healthy for any young Ork, assuming he isn't killed that is.
(Not including Necrons...They aren't thriving and they didn't really do anything for A HUGE amount of time.)
