there was an article in White Dwarf a couple of months back (cannot remember the issue #) which showed quick ways to paint a skeleton unit, an ultra marine squad and some LoTR Marauders (i think?). the method for the skeletons was nice, simple, quick but effective imo - may be worth looking that up
