Well I know that some gamers at my gaming store got in a debate about this question, and I'm sure its been asked.

but are the Tau Communists or Chinese Prophets?

Examples:
Commies: For the Greater Good, the belief of the collective fighting for the common good for the people
Chinese Prophets: They use a cast system based on Fire, Water, Air, and Earth all of which derive from Chinese prophets (I believe)

Those are just a few examples
