sometimes hard to get the hang of. here we go:
all infantry platoons have a comand section which consists of
a officer from the officer list in the HQ section of the codex
the officer of course has access to the armoury
he comes with a free staff of 4 gaurdsmen which can be upgraded according to the chart under the officer in the codex.
infantry platoon (IP) consists of 2-5 squads of each of which contains 9 gaurdsmen and a sgt.
a IP fielding less than 5 squads may field a regiment containing a sgt and 3-8 gaurdsmen
command platoon is the officer his staff + upgrades + support staff
support staff is the support squads under the officers section and the staff option table. if you have a more direct question ask other than that here is a HQ example
