Yeah, it is. I put that at the bottom of my post, in case there were those who were wondering.
But seriously, the fact that the plural of moose does not equal meese is one of many things that I hate about the english language: too many exceptions, subrules, and general crap.
As a cartoon character once said (there are probably few who know this show) in addition to moose and meese, "If the plural of mouse is mice, shouldn't the plural of spouse be spice?" He was kinda crazy and empty-headed, but I always thought he had a point.
But anyway, caribou = definitely not > meese.
