Chosen - 6 men, Mark of slaanesh, free Aspiring champion: Aura of Acquiescence, 5 aspiring champions, all with: Bolt pistol, power fist, Doom Siren, Daemonic Flight, Daemonic Aura, Infiltrate -480
OK, C'mon 6 wounds, you can not be serious. This is exactly why I hate Chosen! People who would otherwise be reasonable in thought and intelligent in choice see this unit and become gibbering fools.
I am going to assume that you were not in a coherent state of mind when you decided to do this as you said it was late when you did this. Taking a step back, you mention "if you think that the chosen is way to expensive recommend me a way to get the same hurt for less points...," well OK then I will. (in fact I will give you more for less)
A favored unit of Possessed with Aspiring Champion, everyone gets Daemonic Talons, the Champion still gets Aura of Acquiescence costs 202 points. for less than the cost of your unit I can take 2 units (and don't worry, they aren't really daemons they just pretend to be them on TV) they don't deliver quite the some reliability of Powerfists but with 19 attacks on the charge going before... say a wraith lord, odds are still in your favor to get the 3 6s you need to kill him with out having to resort to rolling to wound. on a good role your going to annihilate and enemy in close combat before he gets a chance to retaliate, and your always going to be able to rely on S5 marines!
you save 76 points
Drop the Combi Bolter from your Predator. you have enough fire on it already and one little Combi Bolter isn't going to make it any better, all it is going to do is make you have to role one (or two if your within 12") extra die separate from the rest of the firepower.
.... Sonic Blasters.... I understand fluff but your giving up 33% of you range and substituting S5 bullets for S4 ones. I know it is cool and fun to mod but you could keep the Heavy Bolter stats, mod it up all kewl like and call them your "Tweeters of Piercing Agony" (or something equally malignant), in this list you need the added fire power. besides "experimental equipment" or "Daemonic guns" can just as easily fit the fluff.
you save +10 points for a total of 86
if you go with the Possessed you don't need to follow MarksmanCypher's advice of splitting your four units into two units for close combat and two units for range but you do need to drop those Doom Sirens (I will address them shortly) and also the power fists (I will address them as well), use power weapons instead if you want.
you save + 60 points for a total of 146
Put your two units of possessed into Rhinos, Maybe give them Smoke Launchers you can have Lucius in one of them and go to town! (just remember he has to disembark before or with them, never after)
you pay 106 points for a total of 40 points
Drop the remaining points into Daemonic Possession and Parasitic Possession on the Predator and you balance out, your still at exactly 1500 points
OK Now, Doom Sirens and Powerfists.
I have the most recent printing and I have the first printing of the Current Chaos Codex. I also have the most current copy of the main rule book as well as the last edition.
Doom Sirens allow you to strike in initiative order even if attacking into cover (I am not specifically quoting any one book here cause I am not going to get GW peeved at me or the site but you seem to have grasped this and are running with it fairly well) However, if an enemy has something like wargear or something that gives them a "Strike first" in close combat, they are unaffected cause they are striking at Initiative 10.
Powerfists always strike (last in the previos edition) at Initiative 1 (and just to make this really clear I am going to apologize to any copyright lawyers out there working for GW) "Ignore any bonuses for special rules, cover, grenades or wargear, ect."
Doom Sirens are "special rules, wargear, ect."
MarksmanCypher is right, you need to use the more current printing. If you were to play him (or me) and an argument came up and you happened to whip out your codex to show him where it says you can do X and he whips out his Codex that says you can not do X guess who wins, the one with the most recent (and up to date) rules.
allrightythen, Powerfist never really made sense to me in a Slaanesh army, while they are nice in some armies, they negate one of the most powerful special rules in a Slaanesh army, striking before most others.
Doom Sirens are over rated, I only use them when fielding havocs (my 6 man assault havocs have 5 doom sirens) and I only field them in heavy terrain games. or when against hoards (although I like being able to rely on bullets over fire if I can help it)
Here is the neat'o thing about the adjusted list. it is harmonious with itself you now have 6 units of 6! How is that for an uber favored army! |
