NOTE: I know nothing about WFB.

I've looked at most of the Battleforce boxes, and, since I have a decent understanding of all the various troops and more standard elites of 40k, generally I would say to a starting player to ALWAYS buy the battleforce boxes.

Why? Because, although many Battleforce boxes (and apperantly this army box) is not playable in it of itself (it seems to be missing a Lord or Hero or whatever), are great buys because of discounts! Discounts, espsically from GW are always good! Also, usually battleforce boxed sets give you a decent bit of "basic" bread and butter units for most armies, and, unless you are playing a highly fluffy/highly cheesy army, you can never had enough troops!
