With some converting I suppose you could use Outriders with crossbows... not sure how that would work.
Perhaps house rules for light calvary?
Oh, and although I don't know a lot about Scotland during that era, I did read a book on Robert the Bruce about a year ago for school... and it didn't mention crossbows, but it did say shortbows...
Oh, and spears would be used a lot, as they were used against the English Knights to deadly effect.
