So if I ever seem to mix something in the 2 wars, it was only kin of mixed, but actually just I'm thinking both wars as one.
Also if the movies and games (and all of my US History textbooks) hold true then there were trenches in WWII... just not long networks everywhere and trench stalemates for months.
They were used, just not much. no longer the means of defense like they were used to, now just connecting various bunkers or set atop a hill to provide a tiny bit o' cover and such. |
They were still used quite extensively on the Eastern front by the Russian. Especially the Guard brigades. and in the old style even.
