Whirlwind - Your take? I will be writing up articles for Space Marines, starting with the whirlwind. So I was wondering what do you guys think, or could you guys give me any tactical ways to use the Whirlwind? You may be quoted for the article.
So Far, I've come up with this: Strengths:
-Very Cheap in points (85 pts base)
-Requires no Line of Sight (LoS) to shoot.
-Good 12-48'' Guess missile range
-Variant Missiles to pick on situation (Castellan, Vengeance, Incendiary*)
-Uses Large Blast Templates
-Decent Strength and Armour Penetration Missiles to take out medium to light infantry (4+ - 6+ saving units)
*Incendiary Missiles - Blood Angels and Dark Angels Whirlwinds have this special variant missile, details will come below.
Weaknesses: -Very Fragile Armor
-Static
- Not good against Heavy Infantry (MEQ - 3+ saves or better)
