it's no accident really... look at it this way; you save 5pts for the best stat line, but you lose 75pts worth of wargear... (if for some odd reason you give the honorifica to a senior officer, that would only be 25pts out of 100pts total wargear cap.)
so basically, you save 5pts, and take 50% of your wargear limit... (which can hurt if say you're wanting to tool up your command squad w/carapace armour from the armoury while still wanting the benifits of a trademark item, melta bombs & macharian cross!)
