i find that 1 basilisk is all you really need on any table smaller than 6'x4'... that long 36" minimum range makes them rather difficult to use on say a 4'x4' table.
my personal preference is nice scary leman russ demolisher w/heavy bolter and heavy flamer side sponsons! in fact, i can count on one hand the number of times i've fired the big cannon - i usually have alot more fun burning things with those sponsons!!! (i know, i seriously need to seek out professional help.lol.)
