Yeah, I was entertaining the tought of possibly having the corrupt Inquisitor die at the hands of the chapter by accident or before they could clear their name or prove him to be the traitor to the Emperor. Something that would leave them still excommunicatus but clearly they are not falling down the path of chaos and stuff.
I could go a different route and have them be the only chapter ever to be declared unexcommunicatus. If such a thing would even be feesably possible. Maybe then do bring down the traitor Inquisitor and prove they are not traitors themselves. But really you might think with the way the Inquisition roles that they would rather have a falsely accussed chapter go to waste then maybe appear corruptable and weak by having one of their own be proven corrupt.
