actually, having had a closer look at the plastic scout heads it seems that its only the mouth area that lets the face down. the bottom lip is MIA and it looks like the surrounding skin is being sucked into they're mouth
find a way to cover the bottom half of the face (rebreather/hair/dust veil/etc) and it ain't so bad.
