Wargear: Shepherds Crook, Wrath of the Emperor, Blessed Armour of the Believer, Frag Grenades
SPECIAL RULES Shepherds Crook: This ornate and beautiful weapon was crafted by master smiths from Colchis under the tutoring of Vulkan himself. It was made before the full fury of the Crusade after all the Primarchs were found, in that age of friendship and bonds of brotherhood.
It was made in the visage of a great eagle with wings outspread, it's talons clutching miniature replicas of the earth and Mars, which were actually beautifully made censors, constantly pouring out the traditional incense of the Covenant Temples where Lorgar grew to man hood.
Counts as a Master-Crafted Crozius, which on a roll of 6 to wound denies any invulnerable save as well.
Wrath of the Emperor:In the heady days before the Heresy, when man-kind improved his prowess at battle and life at a pace barely able to be kept by the Forgeworlds of old, many technological wonders were achieved.
In particular was the invention of the hand flamer, a device with the same power and range as a flamer, but in pistol form. It took the forum of a massive eagle with talons out-swept, each talon, and the beak of the eagle itself clasping the nozzle of a flamer.
In game terms, it counts as a one handed, twin linked flamer, with the firer being able to place one additional template to either side, or to the FRONT of the first template. If place in front of the first template, all benefits of being twin linked are sacrificed.
Martyrs Fury: Because of the unwavering faith put into Lorgars beliefs since his boyhood on Colchis under the beliefs of the Covenant, the path of Martyrdom is not one to be shunned in his eyes, and such abandon is reflected in the fact that Lorgar gets +1 Attack (included in his profile). This rule also grants him and his bodyguard the Furious Charge USR minus the Initiative bonus.
Holy Armour of the Believer: Lorgar, when found on Colchis, was shortly sent out to work the Crusade. In the fires of his own home planet, and the fires of his own worlds belief system, he made and blessed armor of unsurpassed beauty. Filigreed and etched with sermons of praise for the Emperor and the Imperium, it was crafted from a smelted blend of the then rare ceramite, adamantium, and overlaid with a beautiful dark slate marble veined with crimson. Sealed and blessed in holy oils, this armor confers both a 2+ armor save and a 3+ invulnerable.
Preacher: Like all the famed members of the covenant, but even more so, Lorgar was an orator beyond compare. all Chaplains in an army lead by Lorgar also benefit from this rule. Any friendly unit within 6 inch of Lorgar Becomes Fearless and gains Furious Charge, but not the Initiative bonus. This is because unlike Russ and Angron, who trained and channeled their inner beasts, Lorgar's was at the beck and call of him and his Chaplains, a suddenly divine spark ignited by them and them alone, and therefore not focused or trained with to such extent as their brothers.
Pious: Due to Lorgars thirst to prove himself to his brothers and the Emperor, Lorgar and his bodyguard must always charge closest enemy unit in in range (if one is in assault range) and always perform a sweeping advance.
Armor of Faith: The prayers of the Word Bearers steel their bodies against their enemies weapons. They will die when their work is done and the Emperor is ready to accept their souls, not a moment before. When Lorgar is down to one wound remaining, the most mournful and leaden chants are voiced by the Word Bearers, steeling their hearts against death. Any unit within d6", adding in +2" for any other Chaplain on the field(Lorgar + 1 Chaplain = d6" + 2, Lorgar + 2 Chaplains = d6" + 4), gains an invulnerable save equal to their armor save for the remainder of that turn. This ability may only be used once per battle. This effect also lasts for only 1 full game turn.
Honor of the Primarch: Lorgar may possess a body guard comprising of two Master of Sanctity ranked chaplains, both possessing such fierce belief and power, that they benefit from the Armor of Faith special rule. All upgrades for these chaplains must be paid for, though they themselves have a base cost of 0 pts, and no other Master of Sanctity ranked chaplains may be taken.
