A Broodlord is always a good start, but, get the battle force first.

This way you get 16 Guants (Hormagaunt/Termagants, which ever way you decide to build them), 8 'Stealers, 3 Warriors and a Carnifex. This gives you the minimum you need to start an army plus a bit more.

A Hive Tyrant is an invaluable part of a Tyranid Swarm.
