I love autocannons as well. It depends on the army that I make. In my current everyday list I have a heavy reliance on plasma weapons so I can't afford to have more Str 7 weapons. Autocannons are my favorite Fire Support Squad weapon and there is nothing that shreds Dreadnoughts better.
