Friends, Terrans, Painters...lend me your brushes!
I, along with the esteemed mart007, have conceived of a dream. A dream of such scope and ambition it'll make your head spin. A dream to rival the painting guide section of the mighty CoolMiniOrNot!!!
Crazy, you say? Without a doubt! Ambitious? Yep! Impossible? NEVER!!!
Now that we have our own painting tutorial forum i am asking, nay pleading, for your help filling it with handy hints and tips. It doesn’t matter what it is, whether it's self-evident beginners stuff or super-advanced techniques that'll test the abilities of even the most accomplished artists among us, if you got it
we want it!. None shall be turned away, no matter what. The only proviso is to make it accessible to everyone. Make it idiot proof! The more detailed the explanation and the clearer the pics, the better.
What we're looking for here is painting advice from
us, to
us. Just posting a link to another forum isn't enough. Put your own stamp on it and it'll have a home here. Also, if you have an alternative method for doing something that's already been covered feel free to add to that thread so we end up with a variety of different methods of doing the same thing, in the same place (makes for less searching

)
"But Hairy, nobody wants to see how
I go about painting
my models!"
Wrong, I do! Get it documented, get it posted. Someone's bound to find it usefull.
"I don't use the same paints as the rest of the forum, i can't help"
No excuse, many of us use different brands of paint. Just list the colours you use in your brand and the nearest equivalent in citadel colour if pos.
I'll personally +rep every tutorial, and every how-to addition (complete with pics) to a existing tutorial.
so next time you sit down to do some painting be sure you have the camera handy!
p.s use this thread to list the topic you want to cover so that we don't all do the same thing.
i'll be covering glowing eyes and a bit of object/source lighting (gregor, feel free to chime in on either of these).
happy painting.
