!!!!!CONTAINS MULTIPLE BIG SPOILERS!!!!! The Armour of Contempt
Is it just me or does the Armour of Contempt seem a very quick read compaired to the others? I mean, I know they're all roughly the same length as it is, but it just fealt shorter for me, despite containing a fair ol' amount of action.
I suspect it had something to do with the majority of the book taking place within about just 4 days.
The Regretful Dead:
Caffran. Now
that is annoying. Now I do like a good sudden or unexpected death in a book (Braggs death being a good example of this, unexpected, shocking and brilliant), however this one just made me feel a bit annoyed.
The Star Turn:
Merrt without a doubt. A character kept in the back of your mind since
Straight Silver when Gaunt walks in on him doing some practise shooting in an empty barn.
The Bland Death:
Sabbatine Cirk, fitting for a character that (quite rightly) never really jelled.
The Newcomers:
Dalin Criid is a good character, I have nothing else really to say on the matter. Currently I'm not particularly moved by his story, but when a new major character arrives it takes a bit to adjust.
The Best of Ghosts:
Mkvenner lives!

Mkvenner stays on Gereon. Bleh-ness.
The Best Line:
"Proper bloody Guardsmen."
Some Final Words:
Caff's dead, Dalin's arrived, Mkvenner's fethed off permanently, Larks will get a bionic foot, Merrt's probably a new major character, life's nasty in the guard during a siege, Curth's back with the Tanith, the Inquisition's confused.
A good book, even if it is over sooner than you'd like.
