my personal preference is too keep my wave serpents as cheap as possible... they aren't ever scoring units anyways, and i'd much rather put the extra pts into proper scoring units!
besides, a twin-linked brightlance is hellishly expensive... a falcon's pulse laser is almost as good, plus you get a taxi-service on top the 2 S8 shots!
wave serpents meanwhile are stuck ferrying about the squad they're bought for.
