my first battle ok, so i had my first battle since i got back into 40k today!
it was combat patrol. since there was a rouge trader tourney going on i did a game with someone who had the buy. he had armored company, but because he had geared his list for a tourney (2000 pts) it was hard getting 450, so he and i agreed on him choosing his units from the list at his disposal. he had
an leman russ exterminator (the one with the autocannons as a turret)
a chimera housing 6 storm troopers with a sarge and two plasma. i had my 450 marine army!
set up was like this
-------
city/chimera/vanquisher/river with 1 man bridge/scouts
chaplain with MB,etc
marines with captain
-------
turn one
everything moved up. did not have anytihng that could pierce armor in range. he did not move and continued to wipe my marines so my cap was alone.
turn two
everything moved up, tried pot shot with combi melta and failed. he moved his chimera up a bit, popped the storm troopers out. turned russ to face my scouts. took two scouts down and took a woud from my chapie.
turn three
moved up everything. charged chappie into storm troopers, commander into chimera. commander popped the chimera with a melta bomb (tanks special rule did nothing), chappie slaughtered the stormies and consolidated 2 inches.
turn three
backed russ in an S pattern to be above my chappie. fired and did a wound onto commander. both chappie and commander charged. special rule for the tank did nothin to ethier model. both melta bombs failed.
turn four
tank edged back, out of combat, shot and did nothing. i charged again, commander died cause of rule, chappie popped the russ in retribution with a melta bomb.
---
end game. i won and caused six casualties, my sig is about to be updated.
