You happen to have the codex?
Markerlights, if a model has it.. it can either use its gun, or the markerlight.
You choose the model you want to 'markerlight'. Roll to hit. If it hits, put a markerlight counter on the model.
Then in the Codex, there are about 4-6 different things you can use the markerlight counter for. Once you choose 1, the effect will happen, but the counter will no longer be used. Hence having a lot of markerlights for more counters is a great idea~
