It could, depending on your personal opinion... But my issue with GW's current/older sonic blasters is the way they attach/are made.. How the hell is that a realistic pose for even carrying the thing at rest? Besides... Space Marines and Chaos Marines carry heavy bolters, multi-meltas, lascannons, and all manner of other heavy things.. I suspect he'll be just fine!
