Yes. Hence this is a counter Close combat maneuver.
EXCEPT
when you use it offensively, you can drive up to your enemies, and undeploy and unload double tap shots to your enemy.
Key goal is to NEVER go unsupported. The whole tau army must function as one, or it will fail.
