the wording about remnents may say "... may include and additional squad of 5-9 guardsmen", however you're still bound by the constraints listed at the top of the page of 1 command squad + 2-5 infantry squads.
that reference about 'additional' is a typo from the 3rd edition platoon entry...
like i said, it's very poorly worded, (it was writen in part by both pete hains & graham mcniel), but infantry platoons are still limited to no more than 6 component units;
1 command squad
2-5 infantry squads
