drones always count as part of their unit so their numbers are added to the squad's when determining for example if a unit has suffered 25% casulties in the shooting phase.
shield drones are always assumed to have the same T value and armour save as the models they accompany making them highly annoying buggers!
gun drones, marker drones & sniper drones for that matter all have their own T and armour save so in these cases, you apply both the majority toughness & majority armour save rules to the unit they accompany!
