I'm attempting to set up my connection using the 360-ethernet cable-computer-modem method (as seen on pg 17 of the manual).

between the PC and the modem, i have a wireless USB adapter and the router, but this shouldn't affect it (?)

i've connected the cables where they need to go, and then ive gone on 'advanced' in my local area connection 'properties' and selected the 'allow other network users to connect through this connection'. It says the connection uses 'Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC', if this has anything to do with it (will i have to put the name of the ethernet 360 cable here)

then, rather then any interaction between the 360 and the PC, all i get is a 'system error- IP conflict' and then my internet refuses to work.

what am i doing wrong or do i have to do something extra to allow the 360 to connect through?

thanks for your time and efforts (if any)

note- I am setting up an account and not just a regular gamer experiencing connection problems. I dont know why but this caused some confusion other places i have asked
ok ive had a similiar conflict make sure you have IP set to automatic , and make sure you have the network settings to allow all and the other setting it will get a connection and update through your computer i'll have more info ive had trouble the past few days 2 so good luck
