I read one thread speculating that all the hivefleets are actually just one big swarm...kinda like a supa-swarm. Hrmmmmmm...lets conjecture for a moment...
If there is a school of say, 100 fish, and 50 of those fish trun left instead of right...there's now 2 schools of fish...hmmmmmm...interesting...
Plausible in theory...but, we may never know for sure.
