At the risk of hijacking this thread... here is a poem I wrote for school a while back...
Mosquito, how I hate thine bite!
Thou comest in the darkness of the night
Under my net* how dare thou fly,
Inside my net, thou shalt die!
Fever, thou bring
Oh for blood thy sing!
My legs hast become red,
As I sleep in mine bed
Swatting and slapping,
And even zapping**,
For thoust hast disturbed my sleep
Thou foul, evil creep!
Mosquito, how I hate thine bite!
Thou comest in the darkness of the night
Under my net how dare thou fly,
Inside my net, thou shalt die!
NOTES:
*: In Bangladesh, because of the huge amount of mosquitoes, in order to have a good sleep, people sleep within mosquito nets.
**: Once again, because of the large amount of mosquitoes, my family, and various other families, have electric mosquito zappers that look like a small tennis racket. When a mosquito flies through this “zapper” it is zapped… electric popping and even the smell of burnt mosquito fill the air!
edit: forgot to say... but very nice poem!
