I've begun messing with A&A: War at Sea, an historical war-game based around the naval conflicts of WWII. I didn't really care for the paper maps released with the game so I went ahead and dubbed my hobby center table as 'Ye Ol' Pacific' and here ya go:

Ha! I finally played my very first game of War at Sea!

My son has landed a small handful of models, enough for two small opposing armies, and we tried a game yesterday. Now, my son has played several games with the local gamers and does pretty well. He greatly prefers the Axis Japs to any other fleets and runs them exclusively when he can (usually borrowed at this time). So, I ran a small force of Allies; US and British.

Ha! When I finally think I have my son figured out, he manages to out-paint me. I have only managed to get the first base-coats on my group of 8 CBT minis and he's already finished painting his, and I think he has more than me! Ugh... little twerp, lol.

But, things are good. We are slowly learning about A&A and CBT and will soon have a nice little selection of fully painted models to play for CBT. A&A will take a little longer to scratch build the models.
