well according to the bloke i talked to it was a really simple process that involved nothing but a knife and some glue, and a bit of patience...and a good deal of care with the knife

no green stuff in sight! he had a model in his case that recieved the treatment and you couldn't tell it from the moulded shoulder pad on the sprue.
