Re: Thinking of Starting grey knights Yes. GK will always be outnumbered, and against most standard balanced armies you'll want to Deep Strike in drop pods/teleport and a few units in LR/LRC's unless you wish your army to be butchered by shooting.
Puritan GK is probably one of the hardest armies I've ever had to play with. You'll usually want to flesh out with some cheap IG or semi-cheap regular ass-tarts.
GK also have CRAP when it comes to variety.
All you're ending up with GK Termies+Hero, power armoured squads (with options for more special weapons or as teleporting fast attack), LR's and dreads.
Yet another reason to take allies.
DA chapters will NOT use GK rules, as that is so totally breaking fluff and rules I can barely stand to say it. GK are supposed to be unique, secret, and backed by Ordo Malleus. GK special rules should not apply, though I guess you can take any of the Malleus wargear for a DA successor as you wish. Wargear is easy to come by. For the +2 part of the nemesis force weapon you should find a better way to explain it rather than "it's their innate psy abilities". something like "their hate gives them power" or something like that.
just a few ideas for now :P |
