Default My Fortess

As some of you may know I've been collecting things to build my 40K fortress. After looking at the rules for the fortress walls in the Forge World Apocalypse book I started building. I have 2 walls, 2 gates, 2 gate towers with heavy bolters, and 2 gate towers with lascannons. It comes to 680 points. Not bad considering the model they show at FW is 650 points without any weapons save the AA mounts on the regular towers!

As you can see I like to mix the Warhammer 40K and fantasy stuff. As my chapter is based on Saint George and the Crusades I thought it only fitting that their outpost would resemble a castle.

Anyhow, here is my progress so far:
This is on overview of the frotress

Front view with Land Raider coming out of the gate

The wall and rampart with rock texture over the foam board (rock texture courteousy of "Knights and Warriors" packs from th edollar store.

Upper gate tower with Imperial Eagle (taken from an old spiderman movie toy) and twin-linked lasguns

Lower gate tower with twin-linked heavy bolters

I still have a long way to go on this. I am adding lights to the outside in the form of gargoyled street lamps and search lights. A landing pad will also be added to the outer section with lights all the way around the pad. After this I still have to do the interior of the fortress which will comprise three floors including the top where the upper gate is.

The interior will have a dreadnought holding area tht will house my 5 dreads, a command center, apothecarium, SM bike parking, tank parking/repair area, and an armoury.

Pssst,...hairy,....pictures....
