Space Marine vehicles cannot compare to Banebaldes, Hellhammer, Shadowswords, Sormblades, and Stormswords. Volcanno cannons, anyone?

True, if the Space Marines abbandoned the codex, then they would fall out of favor with most of the Imperial forces. Especially the Inquistion.
