also you could go with shadow grey and black shoulderpads with space wolve gray highlights and boltgun metal on certain edges in small portions for chipped effect.

depends, if im going for my version of the space wolves i dry brush the entire model codex gray then trim the shoulderpads in codex grey to clean it up a bit then highlights are fortress gray, that help?
