Well spotted, D_C. I've got about a dozen of 'em. Although it's not definitely going to be part of the base, it is exactly the right height for his foot and looks like a nice, generic piece of junk. If I use it, I'll chop it up a bit so it isn't sticking out to the sides too awkwardly.

I've nearly finished the shield - I've built a grip for his left hand to hold and a strap to go around his forearm. I'm just constructing a few pieces to make it look a bit more "techy" - so it looks like it's actually energised in some fashion.

I've also - rather nervously - started work on the mace. I'll try to take a new photo today.
