Thank you for all your comments, coming from you guys that means a lot! I’ve been looking at all the entries and the standard is amazing.

I basically am new to 40k and particularly the Tau so I decided to follow the scheme from the book purely because it is so striking – I tried to copy the runes exactly to keep the theme consistant.

You may think the wood effect on the staff odd for the Tau, but I chose to paint it like that as to me it summed up the Tau. Wood is something that naturally combines all the elements: it grows from the earth, water is needed for growth, wood can be used for fuel to produce fire and finally it is the trees which contribute to oxygen which is within the air.

I know that the base is much simpler than many of the others, but I decided to keep it like this early on as I didn’t want to distract from the model itself.

I hope you like the model and I am grateful for your encouragement – this is only the second model I have put online so it was a bit nerve wracking!
