yep i definately learned that i dont like varnish on my models.......
here's why.....

the post varnish is way too glossy which it shouldn't be....especially on the base. well i learned something out of this. that and i learned abit more about shading. the biggest thing i found for doing the highlighting was to determin what spots needed to be hit to give the highlight effect. i'd turn the model and the light would be coming from a different angle so i just held back on shading. but i did try some more on the familiar's cloak. perhaps on my next model i'll try Marts tech of reverse shading starting with the lightest color and working my way darker versus my normal way of starting dark and working light.
