actually, because of it's pts cost & stats, a land raider is still counted as a scoring unit even when bought as a dedicated transport! (smurf 'dex)
however, it still follows all the other rules for dedicated transports, chiefly that it can only transport the squad it was bought for...
honestly, i wouldn't consider taking a land raider in a guard army cheesey... i mean, if the guard player
wants to sink 250+ pts into a single model which also requires them to take roughly 100pts in addition, then by all means please do so! i can still kill the raider with a single lucky shot. (well, maybe i can't, but anyone else can!
)
there's much better options in the guard list for 250pts than a single av14/14/14 tank, which also comes with 2 main weapons to boot!
