oh and stich the reason for lack of washing is the daemonhunter fluff. Supposedly since dreadnaughts are the resting place for some of the greatest fallen heros of the imperium (especially the dh dread) that they are washed and oiled and garnished with holy oils and and other stuff leaving a lack of dirt and other tarnishes
