I'm glad you found a way to use the new 'dex. I respect anyone who does so. For me though it isn't fixable; I am not a Chaos player so much as a World Eaters player...and my World Eaters don't fly. I can play a Khornate force with World Eaters in it, but I can't play pure World Eaters. It's a personal thing and I hold no one else to it save myself. World Eaters don't lose their Faith in Khorne because someone shot a few of them. Terminators of the World Eaters shouldn't be less effective than the foot sloggers. I can paint Khornate characters and such as World Eaters, but the paint job does not the Legion make. I want my leaders to BE World Eaters, not play at it. I take it that you don't play in a lot of tournys, or if you do you bring one of your other armies... once again the ones that I totally forgot that you play.
So ya know, it isn't for me, but I cheer you on. I am a World Eaters player, I couldn't care less about Chaos as a whole. I don't play Khorne, I play World Eaters. Or I did. I occasionally still do with our group since they don't care if I use the older Dex. I never abused it as some did anyway. I totally sympathize with you my Nurgle Army had 7 units of 7 models, or at least multiples of 7 in the case of the Demons. *sigh* I loved that army... but for now I am putting those in storage and playing a new Tzneech list with the new dex. Even though it won't be a truely peer Tzneech list the rules allow a lot of interesting possiblities, even if the dex did take a way much of the customization.
I was perusing my RoC books again, along with the 2e and other codices. The background for them has been remarkably consistent over the years saving this latest one. I particularly like the progression of the Legion from pretty much standard organization through to discarding everything save CCW. I think the Index Astartes could have been better written, but on the whole it was pretty cool.
So while I still work on them I don't actually play them much anymore. I have the Salamanders and my Battle Sisters for that. LOL You could say the new 'dex turned me loyalist. *chuckles* I thought, however, that folks here would like to see some of the work I have done and am doing with this Legion.
Fortune and the Gods of Chaos smile upon your forces my friend. And to you as well my comrade in arms! Blood for the Blood god.
Sister Sin | Huh... you learn something new every day, apperently you can't just post a quote that you have added your own comments to, you must write something out side of the quote box... and Knowing is half the battle.
