I believe the rules are in Imperial Armour Volume 2 (The Space Marine and Inquisition one, not the Orks and Eldar obviously). In game term I believe you can aim them slightly but in fluff terms they aren't there to be aimed- a number land and completely fill an area with gun fire/missiles before the other drop pods land, accuracy is secondary to sheer weight of fire.
