Orks consists of two symbiotic organisms: one being the animal and the other an alga. The DNA Helix of one is curled round that of the other and living in the bloodstream.
The animal cells carry the genetic information of only the individual's subspecies, but the alga has genetic information for all the varieties of Orkoid, as well as the different Oddboyz (which is why mekaniaks instinctively know how to repair/make vehicles). The alga also helps heal wounds quickly.
by default, this alga also means that orky gums and tobgues should not be pink, but a very dark green. ork blood SHOULD not be red because of this, but GW has said that it is red to make paining it more dramatic (a stupid reason if you ask me)
