Well I don't know if this will help you noobs or not, but it took me about 4 years of playing every weekend before I finally started to win more than I lost. I am dead serious I would guess that back in the day I had a bout a 15% win record until I finally not only got the hang of rules, but of general tatics and stratedgy.

The bigest turning point for me was realizing that knowing your enemy is the most important thing you can do to improve your win/loss ratio. Once you can succesfully analize your enemy and put a priority on the nastiness that is in their army then you can start forming stratedyies on how to beat them.
