im sure the necrons will use some kind of device to scare away the hive mind. If the tyranids consume all of the biomass in the galaxy, then the necrons could not do another red harvest. the C'tans must know this, and so would do something to stop the tyranids. im guessing the Void Dragon would do something spectacular if he needs to.
