what the statline on a dakkagun?
18" s5 ap4 assault 2
no big deal at BS 2

I'd treat heavy bolter hits as if I was getting smacked by pulse rifles Tau. Which str 5 is hard to kill even Space Marines. How about an ork?

they dont kill marines because of their ap not the strength(i know from experience)
