As far as wanting to get to top notch painting, it just takes time. Ive been painting on and off for the last 15 years. My first models dont look anything like the ones I paint now, thank god... I started out just dry-brushing everything, then ventured out trying other techniques a little at a time. Sooner or later you'll find the one you will stick with as a main. Mine is lining I guess you would call it. When I paint I do it in flowing lines with a layering technique. Look at the Slaanesh DP I posted in the gallery section, you'll see what Im talking about. I still need to learn how to blend a little better with multiple thinned down coats.
