From what I understand of his series... they got to the point where the characters were immortal gods of divine power... or something like that.
However... anyone who can write that much, and get it all published, and have the fan base he did, is worth a mention.
Still... in terms of Epic Fantasy of the Modern Age, Steven Erikson is a better author, according to my friend who has read both.
