alright folks heres the current status on the 3 choices.
i started to do a bit of work on the IH and DA before i realized i hadn't taken pics yet so i stopped.
Dire Avengers:

1k sons: turns out i only have 4 basic guys not painted (i could strip 1 more guy to make it the same size as the others
)
well theres your choices.
so far the DA are ahead on the count.
and no particular "sub" chapter or clan in mind for the iron hands. but if i do them they need to have a sufficient Ad Mec feel to them as well.
