Oddly enough nobody raised the obvious "UM = smurf" and stuff like that. Oh well.

Umm.. in my local GW one of the staffers owns a Gargantuan Squiggoth from forgeworld, called Muffin. (and many o' his orcs, orks, grots and goblins characters are named along similar lines)

and BTW all the people i meet will say Tear-an-nids for pronounciation of Tyranids, even all the staffers and vets.

Seriously though, I read in an old WD article they called them Tyrnids (Tie-ran-ids, like tyrant, we certainly dont say tear-ant), so that people would think dinosaur-like. Though... to me.. I just always think of Sigourney Weaver in panties. lol Oh wait.. I mean the alien chasing her.. uh, er, yeah.. ahem.

My cousin used to call them Zergs.

and Tear-an and Tie-ran is sort of toh-may-toh toh-mah-toh isn't it?

let thee prounounce it however thee wants. Of course Chimera is still "kai" not "chih" and tihngs like that :P

well the zerglings would be hormagaunts (fast, swarm, CC, but bigger then rippers) the carnifex would be the ultralisk, the gargoyles are the mutalisks.
everything is living, even the guns/ammo/ships/buildings...sounds like nids.

Hehe, off topic here, but i once created a WH40k map for BW. In fact, it was a roleplay. So 'nids were pretty much all Zerg, with a few Zerg units being Orkies and Kroot aswell. Rp never got really acknowledged, but me and a few friends who played it loved it. =)
